Routine Cleaning
Clean your new Bernini Quartz worktops regularly with soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue, then dry immediately using paper towels or a soft cloth. For best results, buff the surface in smooth circular motions using a lint-free microfibre cloth.
It is strongly recommended that all spillages from everyday household items such as tea, coffee, wine, vinegar, fruit juice and cooking sauces are cleaned as soon as they occur.
Avoid using multi-surface polishes, as these may affect the finish and appearance of the worktop.
Any standing water should be wiped up and dried promptly to prevent the build-up of limescale.
Removal of Dried Spillages and Limescale
Some substances may harden as they dry, making them more difficult to remove. For tougher marks, use a non-abrasive cream cleaner with a soft, non-metallic sponge.
Do not use scouring pads or abrasive materials, as these may scratch or dull the worktop. Once cleaned, rinse thoroughly with water and dry immediately.
Avoiding Oils, Chemicals, Dyes and Solvents
Avoid the use of harsh chemicals such as bleach, strong degreasers, caustic solutions or products with a high pH level.
Do not use solvents containing aggressive chemical compounds. Oils, dyes and certain chemicals can cause permanent damage or staining to the worktop.
If any of these substances come into contact with your worktops, clean it off immediately, as per the previous instructions. If these substances are left on your worktops it can cause permanent damage.
Hot Objects
Although quartz worktops are heat resistant, they are not heat proof. Direct contact with hot cookware can cause thermal damage. Always use heat-resistant mats or trivets when placing hot pans, trays or appliances onto the worktop.
Heavy and Sharp Objects
Avoid standing, sitting or placing excessive weight on the worktop, particularly near edges or unsupported areas. Take care not to drop or knock heavy items, as this may cause chipping or impact damage.
Do not cut directly on your worktop. Always use a suitable chopping board when preparing food to prevent scratches and maintain the appearance of the worktop.
